The Western Roads Upgrade project is one of Victoria’s most complex Public Private Partnerships.
A range of factors led to challenges in project partner working relationships at a pivotal time for Western Roads Upgrade. Struber undertook qualitative engagement with senior leaders and project team members, together with an independent audit of project documents and processes to understand the heart of the challenges.
Struber developed and implemented a series of recommendations to rectify issues and re-set the project culture, processes and relationships.
- Facilitated qualitative interviews with key project team members to understand challenges
- Independently audited key project documents and processes
- Facilitated vision, values and behaviour workshop and delivered charter ready for roll-out
- Reviewed and amended key Management Plan and processes to obtain approval and sign-off
- Developed internal tools, processes and systems in collaboration with all parties
- Undertook further training and collaboration workshops to ensure consistency in approach, tools and use.
Through Struber’s support and tactics, vastly improved cross-partner relationships were forged, with shared goals and understanding of perspectives between team members.
Struber’s independent audit and process review was key to taking the project Communications and Engagement Management Plan through to agreement and approval with the State. This was pivotal to facilitating the relationship ‘re-set’ and ensuring project partners agreed on requirements and processes.
