Extending from Fed Square through to Southbank and beyond, the Melbourne Arts Precinct has one of the highest concentrations of arts, cultural and creative organisations in the world, hosting around 3000 performances and exhibitions each year.
The Victorian Government made a $1.7 billion commitment to transform Melbourne Arts Precinct into one of the greatest creative and cultural destinations in the world and one of Australia’s largest cultural infrastructure projects.
Struber was appointed to develop and deliver a community and stakeholder engagement program to support the application by Development Victoria to the Minister for Planning to prepare, adopt and approve Amendment C356 to the Melbourne Planning Scheme, by exercising powers under section 20(4) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
The engagement activity undertaken by Struber and subsequent documents and presentations were critical in establishing confidence that the community and stakeholders were aware and prepared for both the planning application and the work ahead.
