Department of Transport and Main Roads had managed property resumptions along the corridor, and Struber’s focus was to support and continue to build on these relationships by supporting the one-on-one, in person engagement focus with directly affected businesses and properties.
This approach aimed to facilitate site investigations to inform the design, and also understand business and service operations to finalise the detailed design for property accommodation works, particularly for businesses facing upgraded intersections and the new Lexington Road on-ramp.
Our thorough understanding of stakeholders and a proactive approach helped the design team hit the ground running with site investigations and property meetings.
Struber:
- Undertook extensive stakeholder identification and mapping to understand affected businesses, residents, community groups and services, local government, elected representatives, services, motorists, commuters and cycling groups
- Met with directly affected businesses and shopping centres to review property accommodation designs, access requirements, revised property boundaries, and access for site investigations
- Developed Communication and Engagement plan and supporting collateral including key messages, frequently asked questions, website copy, and notifications
- Developed and managed wide-spread notifications for site and survey investigation works
- Coordinated overarching M1 public information displays including reviewing venues, liaising with suppliers and event logistics
