The Victorian Government is installing 100 kilometres of new and improved bike routes across key inner-Melbourne suburbs to make it easier and safer for people to ride to and from the CBD.

Struber used our tried-and-tested approach to develop communication and engagement strategy, plans, supporting collateral  and reporting in the delivery of pop-up bike lanes across the inner-Melbourne suburbs.

The Struber team worked with GTA Consultants and Department of Transport (DoT) to provide communication and engagement services for the pop-up bike lane program across the inner-Melbourne suburbs.

Struber worked as an extended and integrated member of the project team to successfully plan and deliver multiple pop-up bike lanes across Melbourne.

Struber’s strategy included:
  • Integrated and embedded within the project team to ensure high level support and project understanding
  • Provided input and advice to the program team for innovative communication and engagement activities
  • Identified reporting structures and visual representation concepts to enhance government reporting.
Through the development of tranche specific Communication and Engagement plans Struber was able to ensure the approach was targeted, unique and focused on specific key community issues and risks for the location and impacted stakeholders.

Struber synthesised large volumes of community comments on Social Pinpoint and through the project inbox to provide advice and direction to DoT on community concerns. The analysis of this information ensured the relevant design updates and modifications to the routes could be made and was supported by the community building project social license.

Struber created reporting dashboards to clearly articulate the relative statistics, this included community enquiries, community comments on Social Pinpoint and reoccurring themes/issues. The dashboard was used to brief and inform multiple levels of stakeholder from the Minister’s Office, Executive teams and project designers.

  • Analysed, developed and presented 6 stakeholder analysis to support strategy development
  • Analysed and reported on over 400 Social Pin points comments
  • Responded to nearly 200 community enquiries through the project inbox
  • Developed 12 stakeholder engagement and communications reports.
